Based on Ira Gershwin’s and George Gershwin's 1930s production, Girl Crazy, Crazy for You tells the story tells the story of Bobby Child, a well to do 1930s playboy, whose dream in life is to dance. Despite the serious efforts of his mother and soon-to-be-ex-fiancee, Bobby achieves his dream.
The show features memorable Gershwin tunes such as "I Can't Be Bothered Now", "Bidin' My Time", "I Got Rhythm", "Naughty Baby", "They Can't Take That Away from Me", "Embraceable You", and "Someone to Watch Over Me". These great hits, combined with class high energy and fabulous dance numbers, promise a fantastic night's entertainment.

Lloyd has worked as a professional theatre practitioner for 27 years (he started very early). Having trained as an actor at the Queensland University of Technology, Lloyd became a familiar face on Brisbane's professional theatre circuit, performing leading roles for the Queensland Theatre Company, the TN Company, La Boite and the Queensland Lyric Opera. Productions included The Trial of Brer Rabbit, Love for Love, Henry V, Salonika, Baby, Macbeth, The Student Prince (starring Marina Prior and Simon Gallaher), Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, The Beggars Opera, and The Three Sisters. He also worked for two years with the Queensland Theatre Company's Theatre-in-Education team, Roadwork, writing, directing and acting in several shows for both primary and secondary school audiences.
Lloyd lived in the UK for a short time and had the opportunity to work on the London Fringe as well as the Edinburgh Festival and took Master Classes with Sir Ian McKellen, Prunella Scales and Sylvia Sims.
Back in Australia, Lloyd moved to Sydney where he has worked for the Sydney Theatre Company, as well as at the Stables, Belvoir Street and New theatres. Productions have included Anthony and Cleopatra, Roses on the Moon, Fallen Angels, Three Winters Green, Only Heaven Knows, The Government Inspector, and The Duchess of Malfi. While working at the New Theatre, Lloyd's interest turned more and more towards directing, and, having tried his hand directing and writing for a couple of their political revues, he worked as director on productions of A Cheery Soul, Othello, Rough Crossing and Any Port in a Storm.
Lloyd has also produced and directed cabaret performances for the Stables in Sydney and Capers in Melbourne.
Looking for a little more stability in life, Lloyd has moved to the production side of film and television. He worked as the coordinator for ABC TV's Factual unit which credits include Operatunity Oz, Choir of Hard Knocks, Collectors and The Cook and the Chef. Most recently Lloyd worked for Screen NSW on a development initiative for Australian feature films, working with renowned filmmakers from Australia and overseas.
Currently Lloyd is working on the second draft of a theatre text book for secondary schools which is due for publication in April/May 2010.
Unable to stay away from his first love, the stage, Lloyd has been moving his sights to community theatre. In 2007 he performed in The Producers for Rockdale Musical Society and last year he appeared as the Wicked Witch of the West for The Regals' The Wizard of Oz. Being a huge fan of the Gershwin brothers, Lloyd is thrilled to be have been invited by The Regals to direct Crazy for You in 2010.
